I lied and said I was busy.
I was busy; but not in a way most people understand.
I was busy taking deeper breaths.
I was busy silencing irrational thoughts.
I was busy calming a racing heart.
I was busy telling myself I am okay.
Sometimes, this is my busy, and I will not apologize for it.

Who am I, and why I write.
I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I am the one, holding on to the silver lining when the skies are gray. I’m a believer that nothing is coincidence, but that everything has purpose. I’ve made my mistakes, don’t we all, but I see them as growing pains and they are a part of who I am today. I have lost myself in order to find myself, and I still do from time to time, but in a good way.
I’m a big child who laughs until my belly hurts when life wants to be serious.
Career wise: I’ve been there, done that, and I took “The jump” off the hamster wheel in an effort to change my future. I didn’t land all that soft, but I can say that I’m still proud to have found the courage to do it. Coming full circle, I had it all, and yet I was lonely and had nothing. Today I choose to be a collector of moments and I chase memories, instead of the material stuff. Less is more, and the motto is quality over quantity. You’d be amazed at how freeing it can be.
I see myself as a free spirit that believes in an unconventional lifestyle. Somehow I go against the grain most of the times, not to rebel, but because it feels right to stay true to my unique and authentic self. It takes courage, and you often stand alone, but if you dare, you soon realize that it is the only way if you don’t want to lose who you are.
Just like most, my past wasn’t easy and I come from a life that didn’t always give me the opportunity to be heard. Few related and even fewer cared to take the time. But that’s the past and it’s history, the future hasn’t happened and the “NOW” is truly all we ever have.
In the end we all have a story to tell, and we all seek to be understood. We all yearn to be heard and accepted and still life is hard and our path is full of stumbling blocks. If we can see the lessons in adversity we may realize that the toughest moments are often our greatest teachers. There is a reason for the saying that the stars can’t shine without darkness, and it might be darkness that will show you the light.
It took a series of (un)fortunate events, to learn to glow through the pain, to learn how to dance in the rain. I believe in Magic and wonder, and the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
As an empath this old soul often feels a little too much, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Today, I am here to tell my story because I believe that it can help others. It is my hope to bring inspiration and strengths to you, while showing you that it can be done. I know you are out there, and I know you are suffering in silence. I am here to tell you that you are not alone, and your voice is being heard loud and clear. Hang on and be strong, transformation is yours.
In light and love....Rhapsody Bohème 💙🦋

I love it, too. It’s a very different kind of business, one I’ve been experiencing myself now for quite some time. A lot of people tell me that I need to come out of my shell and DO more stuff and socialize more and all that. But I’m so busy taking deeper breaths and calming my racing heart and doing heaps of soul searching that I simply don’t have the energy to be busy on the outsight, too. If they knew how busy I really am. On the inside. More than ever.

No, just listen to yourself and follow the path right for you. You already know and you are already doing it. Not everyone will understand and that’s ok as well. Be well dear one.

This is a good kind of busy, one we all need to use from time to time, and I don’t think it’s a lie to say we are busy, because we are, busy looking after ourselves. If we don’t do that, who can we look after? x

Absolutely agreed and from time to time there is nothing wrong putting ourselves first. 😉

I can so relate: the best kind of unbusy busyness. I find I must be ruthless and take the time; it is not something I can do without.

This is perfect! So many times we are judged for our lack of interest in being around other people because they just don’t get it. This is the perfect explanation! Thank you for speaking your truth.

I know what you mean and we may find ourselves on different spots along the our journey. An enlightened mind will not make sense to anyone still asleep, so not everyone will understand until their own experiences are made.
Best wishes to you. Hugs

I’m in love with this! I am 13 (new to the blogging world lol) and I have anxiety. I’m not diagnosed because I’m too scared to ask my mom for me to go to a therapist, but I really want to. I’m hoping to do it when the school year ends. I’ve done a ton of research and I’m positive I have anxiety, social anxiety, and separation anxiety. I may have something else as well, but I’m not going to say as of right now. This quote is amazing! It’s so true! I’ll just be sitting doing nothing and before you know it boom! I’m nervous/anxious and I don’t even know why! I’ll be sitting then boom anxiety attack! I’ll be in public and before leaving the house boom anxiety! While in public boom anxiety! I hope to advocate about mental illnesses and spread positivity! If I can make one person happy I’ve done my job! Hope you (and anyone else that’s reading this) have a lovely day/night! Merry (early) Christmas! (Or happy holidays for those of you who don’t celebrate Christmas):)

You have inspired me! I have lied for my anxiety so many times, saying i’m ill, have a migraine or an upset stomach. I just can’t do it anymore!

Good for you. Realizing this and following your true path will eliminate some of the obligatory weight that crushes you. Sometimes we do too much to please others and while there is nothing wrong and I do the same as an empath, there is also a time to listen to your inner dialogue and not ignore those voices. Best of luck to you.

I feel as if though you have read my thoughts. I’m constantly trying to fight my anxiety every day, and it’s honestly exhausting. Even if I’m excited about making plans and going out before, my anxiety just destroys those feelings. And it sucks.
With my family too, I always make up an excuse like “I’m not feeling well” or “I didn’t sleep well last night” whenever they ask why I’m so spaced out all the time.
If you’d like to, you can read my own struggles with anxiety: https://ayeshaquadri.wordpress.com/2019/03/04/my-own-anxiety-story/
I also wanted to ask you if you had any tips and advice for new bloggers? I’m new to this and the help would lessen my anxiousness.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Have a wonderful day.

I know what you mean and will definitely stop by at your blog and post.
I say that if we have to make excuses it is due because our heart is not in it. Maybe because of fear of not being able to be ourselves, maybe because we feel like we have to behave a certain way to be accepted. Maybe because we feel under the observation glass. There are many reasons and we also need to look at it from different angles. Maybe it nothing to do with us and there is nothing wrong. Maybe it is the wrong crowd and people that gives us the anxiety and we are trying to fit in with the wrong people. You are perfect the way you are and your tribe (your like minded people) will love you for who you are.
As far as blogging, don’t stress and go with the flow. Write from the heart, nobody can ever take that or criticize that. Visit other blogs and comment. Follow other blogs to bring visitors to your site. Create tags (categories) for your individual posts. This way people searching under the subject of example: anxiety, will find you. You may also want to add an about page to let readers know what the bones of your blog is.
Best of luck to you and remember that this is an outlet, something that makes you feel good. No stress, no anxiety.

It’s so hard to explain a feeling to someone who has not experienced it. I find comfort from those online who are brave enough to share and help people like me who need to find that sense of normalcy.
