Trusting in ourselves

Sometimes we can’t see that we already have everything we need inside of us. We wait for someone to rescue us, for the situation to change. Surely it will pass and eventually it does. How we feel when that happens is more in our control then we could ever imagine.

Did we skid by, by the skin of our teeth? Did we find ourselves left behind broken and hurt? Did we see our vulnerability as a sign of weakness, hating it all together? Did we believe in ourselves, by looking at the lessons meant to be learned because we are exactly where we needed to be? I know the later is not an easy thing to do, especially when those lessons are painful and we search for answers that are never given. I also know we each do our best when it happens, and our reaction and outlook depends on where we are on your journey called life.

What if I could propose a different view? What if we should try something so out of the ordinary that at first thought it seems impossible and ridiculous? What would happen if we tried to embrace those events, if we hugged our pain, if we trusted in ourselves, and understood that every lesson in our life is for our higher good? Here is what leads me to that conclusion and for myself this concept has worked. It’s a work in progress, a labor of self love and learning to trust in your abilities. But it’s worth it and I hope you remember this the next time when faced with adversity. 🙏🏼

“The real treasure of life, the one difficult to find and hard to attain, is never far from us. That’s an unwritten rule on this earth. What we desperately desire and need most is buried in the recesses of our innermost being all along. This is the open secret found in many traditions and told in many ways. Yet it remains a secret because trusting in oneself remains one of the hardest things to do in life.

We are the co-creators of our life and the time is now. More than ever are we needed to support Mother Earth and each other. Together we discover and explore our unique gifts in times of strengths, in times we lean on each other, and in times when we learn from each other. This blog started as an outlet and what I ultimately called my “Warriors Journey.” It was a way to document the ups and downs of my life, sharing my hardships as well as my successes. It showcased the struggles, but more important the ways of how to overcome them. Although we are warriors each and every day, I realized that having to be a warrior, comes from a place of pain. I decided to rename this blog, and “Phoenix Rising” now stands for the story of overcoming such a painful place. My motivation for this blog hasn’t changed and I hope to share inspiration and hope, to create a sense of belonging, a space of being heard, and connecting with like minded beings who instill a sense of oneness. We are never alone, and we are unstoppable in the pursuit of what sets our soul on fire. Who I am in a nutshell...
I am an energy healer and Reiki Master. I am surviving a chronic disease that I’ve sent into remission three times since my initial bout, 15 years ago. I continuously challenge the status quo and by doing so I change my stars. I am a believer that anything is possible. I am a hopeless romantic and I believe that true love exists on various levels. I am an optimist that will always see the glass as half full. I am a dreamer, believing in endless possibilities. Not even the sky is the limit. I have jumped off of the hamster wheel, and I am writing a new chapter. I am chasing my Nirvana to support my most authentic self. This is my story, I am that Phoenix and I am rising from the ashes. Namaste 🙏🏼💙🦋

  1. Well written Rhapsody. And it is one thing, because of the pain we must go through, that we will appreciate so much more because of that pain…us. And that is the love and happiness we have looked for all our lives waiting for us to have the courage to look within 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

      1. I’ve looked at it from many directions and the most amazing thing, on going through it myself and seeing it in others, is the profound connection on so many levels. It matters not who is with you at that painful time, they too will gain from the journey. As will anyone even remotely connected with you, even in just hearing of your journey, will ‘see’ something even if it is just to nod their head sagely. That ‘nod’ is even then showing them something that they relate to, a confirmation within themselves.
And as a reward? Loving ourselves is the most beautiful reward there is. It is in finally understanding love that we can then give it in truth…by understanding ‘our’ love. Everything down here points to it. It is in understanding all those emotions that finally show it to us, finally understanding that this journey has slowly shown our struggle to understand us by giving us all those experiences so that we can see, finally see, its truth. And like anything we do, it is only understood when we experience it.
We all transform minute by minute, step by step. But unconditional love once found, no longer has time, nor distance. It encompasses it all and sets us free 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽

  2. Inspiring post, Rhapsody.
We need to learn to think out of the box to find new solutions and not be so scared to do so.
By life I learned to trust myself, as I found out, not many others are worth trusting. We are all responsible for our own lives, why we also need to think different, when we have a situation demanding our attention.
Much love and huge hugs for you ❤

  3. It’s interesting reading thais, we have so little trust in ourselves let alone around us and how can we trust others if not ourselves. I know that pain is felt when we’re outside of our comfort zone, we maybe need to live there more.
