Mighty doesn’t know size

Look at this picture of a little friend, I shot during my recent backpacking trip. There he was, starring off into the distance. His gaze filled with content as if he was lost in a beautiful dream. I didn’t think much of it as I was looking through the viewfinder of my camera, but at home and while seeing it on a bigger screen, it brought a different message. I made a couple quick adjustments until the contrast and lightening was exactly how I wanted it. “Cute little guy”, I thought initially as I took my first glance, thinking that that was it. But apparently there was more and a few words spilled over my lips as I heard myself say, “Mighty is the one full of spirit and spunk”. I’m not quiet sure where this came from and I don’t remember any thought process that lead up to this statement. The words vocalized before my mind could even think them and I still don’t remember the thought originating in my own mind. I felt guided, as if someone was speaking through me, to speak of a message that needed to be conveyed about this Picture that would become a piece of wisdom and advice along my journey.

The main words that stand out to me are MIGHTY….SPIRIT….and Spunk.

Spirit: Helps us all to deal with anything that comes our way. “That’s the spirit”, I’m sure you heard that saying before. “Keep your spirits up” may be another you heard during challenging times. Most likely always easier said than done, but I hope it will always be your first choice. Without it, few things remain and you will find yourself on a downward spiral before you are ready to hold on. Mighty is the one that can keep spirit on their side throughout adversity and find positivity in the lessons of life without getting bitter. 

Spunk: In order to support spirit, you also need spunk. A bravery and courage that keeps you on track during times when you feel like giving up. It’s the audacity and the backbone when you question yourself. It’s the very moment a “Why me” turns into a  “Try me” and is filled with such conviction that won’t allow for anything but success. It’s the confindence to keep going, to be strong and face whatever it is you owe this fight of your life to. Mighty is the one that can smile into the face of adversity and find the silver lining through the process and the pain. 

Tonight and in my little corner of the world, looking at this picture, the quote seems relevant and mighty doesn’t know size. It comes in all packages and it always takes courage and strengths.
