October Full Moon 2021

The full moon is always a special time for me and as a typical Moon-child I have always felt drawn to it. I miss going to my monthly drum circle, drumming in the energy, singing and chanting, releasing what no longer serves me, and indulging in a short, lead shamanic journey. I miss this time being shared with like minded souls as the energy amplifies in a group setting. For the time being, it’s not feasible for me to attend this group setting and my rituals are performed mainly alone right now. Still powerful, I connect and tap into the energy of the Hunters Moon.

I woke differently this morning, with what I perceived as some fire energy from the full moon. My vision was off, somewhat blurry, and everything appeared to be rimmed by a small outline of burning flames. Soon all sounds were amplified, louder as usual with sort of an echo. With it came an enormous pressure on my forehead and honestly I am surprised now that I am well enough to type this post. Symptoms have decreased but they are not completely gone just yet. I am drowning myself in drinking extra water and perhaps a afternoon nap is on the horizon in a few hours. But first, let’s take a closer look at tonight’s Hunter Moon.

We enter the moon cycle and the last quarter of the year in preparation for Winter. The harvest of the season is over and preservation and preparation for the icy cold days and nights are ahead of us. Even in my corner of the world the first snow and frost has made it’s appearance and introduced gloomier days with less sunshine. I welcome a time of soups and hot tea’s, sliced latte’s and Chili’s that feel perfect for the gray, cold skies. A period of dormancy is starting and the spiritual meaning of this moon is focused on internal work and self reflection. Haven’t we done so much of this already this year? I know that I have and the work continues and is never done as we welcome the darkness and embrace the darker half of the year. For myself, I feel content, for I have really made progress working with my shadow self and the darkness. more than ever has the darkness been a part of my life this year and it has made a world of difference. I feel that I have befriended the darkness to a great extent, and love and light which are not always a given when doing spiritual work have been gifted to me almost like a reward because of doing the work. The hard work, the one that scares us initially, the one we have shied away for so long, afraid of what we might uncover in it’s process. I couldn’t be more grateful for the lessons that brought this darkness to the forefront this year and I wouldn’t change a thing, although some of it sucked a big one. Lol….

This is a wonderful time to reflect and to look back. To show gratitude and appreciation for all that Nature has given us, and also to recognize all the work we have done so far. To see our journey and to give thanks for all we have achieved. Take a moment to be still and reflect. What have you’ve been working on this year? Where were you at the beginning of your journey and where are you now? Pinpoint what still needs to change, what perhaps is holding you back, and you will know what to release during this full moon. As the Veil has grown thinner, magick is in the air and we are presented with spiritual growth and goal setting. Our ancestors and loved ones are closer to us, cheering and supporting us along the way. What is the next step for you?

The old farmers almanac states that if October brings heavy frosts and winds, then January and February will be mild. Although we are in a drought and need moisture badly to replenish reservoirs and lakes to combat a new fire season that surely will revisit us next year, I can’t help but hope for a milder winter as it is my first out of my big house. The winds were hauling last night and gusting strongly while the Tiny Boho Abode is undergoing winterization. At 1 AM the skirt to conceal the undercarriage was blowing down the road and had to be retrieved, hopefully to be finishing it’s install today before the next wave of rain and snow hits.

Besides gratitude and self reflection, this is also a time of balance, transition, developing your physic gifts, the afterlife, shamanic work, dream work, Arch Angels and much more. Whatever it is you are working on right now, consider yourself supported and carried by the energy of the full moon. I am decked out wearing silver today, which is one of the colors favored during this cycle. You might also try ruby red or dark purple, black, burnt orange, navy blue or gold. I am wearing some of my gemstones in the form of a bracelet, necklace or even earrings to further support this time and myself, absorbing as much energy as I can.

Let’s look at some activities and ritual of how we can celebrate even more. Maybe we fill our kitchens and houses with the aromatic smells of canning and food preservation. Perhaps that DIY project we never finished finds a new meaning and purpose. Candle light fills our space as we prepare for Yule and the Winter Solstice in deep concentration and meditation. Maybe this is a time we make hand crafted Christmas gifts that involve, touch, feel and smell. What about a healthy potion made with organic herbs, perhaps from your own garden, hand collected. Have you ever made handmade soaps? Do you knit or crochet? This used to be a time I spent with Mom knitting handmade Socks and perhaps this year through my healing journey I will be able to hold the yarn tight enough once more, being able to make a fist to support this practice before I forget how to do it. This is a time when I like to work on crafting and stocking up my inventory for my business at Youniqua. Unfortunately for the time being and other pressing issues still at hand that require attention, my online shop is not offering any handmade artifacts. I can still produce inventory however and it’s also a time for my Dragons Breath (Ginger potion) and Dragons Blood (Elderberry syrup). Whatever it is that we focus our energy on right now will bring more relaxation and enjoyment for the months ahead.

This is a time to continue our internal work. Don’t be afraid of the darkness within you and figure out how she is a part of you and who you are. Don’t judge yourself, just observe. Meet yourself with kindness and understanding. Be patient and forgiving. Acknowledge and forge a new plan for what you would like to see in your future. Perhaps you will journal your thoughts so you can revisit them as often as you need to remind yourself in the months ahead, until spring when your ideas can sprout into new life. Wishing you blessings on this full moon and always.

Full Buck/Stag Moon

The full Buck/Stag moon will appear in the night sky on July 23rd and be visible for three days. It’s been awhile since I wrote about the powerful moon energy and as things settle in for me and this moon is all about healing, I’m of course all over it. We all need healing on some sort of level and mine is multi dimensional. So let’s take a closer look to see what we can expect.

Hindus, Buddhists and Jains call it the Guru Moon because it’s marked as a time to clear off the mind and learn from the Guru or spiritual mentor. It’s a time for individual exploration and connecting deeper with your inner self. It is perfect for reflection and reconnection with our bodies and minds which can help us gain a clear perspective on an important matter.

Those born in late Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn might feel the moon deeper that other zodiac signs. Ahhhh…no wonder, and as a fellow Cancer I suppose this means “count me in.”

The full moon brings the opportunity to spend time outdoors and truly connect with nature in this blissful season. Find somewhere quiet, feel free to go barefoot to ground and connect to the earth.

The full moon is personal to each individual and sometimes it will be there to highlight our wins and manifestations will come to fruition. At other times it is there to shine that spotlight on what needs to be she’s in order to make room for the new. And let’s not forget to utilize this energy to release what no longer serves us.

To reap the fruits of the full moon, you can spend time meditating, journaling, or doing any other form of self care. Personally I hope to add drumming for the first time in months. Happy full moon everyone, let the magic begin.

Pink Super moon April 2021

Picture: Yahoo

The first super moon of the year is upon us and it’s time again to prepare for the energy it has in store for us.

Rituals associated with the full moon include connecting with nature and manifesting dreams and goals. It is believed to be a symbol of optimism for the future. During this time, one can expect to have some of their goals and dreams achieved. In order for this to happen, however, one must figure out which parts to let go of in order to move forward in life. We are being asked to trust and believe in ourselves as we attempt to grow and change. Allow yourself the chance to fail and the courage to try again. This is a big one, isn’t it and often we are far too hard on ourselves and hold unrealistic expectations. Give yourself a break. You are doing your absolute best. Remember this…

Be willing to adapt and redirect from your original course or strategy. This will help make your intentions and goals successful and long lasting. Besides progress and optimism, the pink moon is also linked to other spiritual meanings, such as lightheartedness, adaptability and generosity.

Full moons are seen as powerful tools to manifest wishes and goals. What are you wishing for at this point of your life? This Monday evening when the pink moon rises into the night sky, listen to some music that triggers happy emotions. Speak with gratitude and imagine yourself already hearing about the good news. Sit outside, be still and allow nature’s beauty to bring good energy your way.

A full moon Reiki healing

I am excited about tonight’s Reiki healing. On top of our regular time slot, Sunday’s at 7PM, PCT, we have the powerful energy of the Worm Moon accompanying us tonight and the energy should be amplified. As mentioned yesterday this new energy is about staying balanced, getting in touch with ourselves, as well as getting real about our closest relationships. It’s a time to face your emotions and dance to your own drumbeat, strong, independent, making yourself a priority. Personally, I think it’s perfect timing for tonight and to dance with wild abandonment as I lead us drumming into our connection with Mother Earth to ground us and into our Reiki healing.

I invite you to dance and give celebration to everything you have put into place during the dormancy of winter. Just move freely in whatever way feels good to you. In other words “let go and dance as if no one was watching.”

Feel good about all the hard work you have done so far, and feel a sense of pride and accomplishment rising as your feet glide over the floor. Feel that weightlessness, a burden lifting and smile to yourself for it is the fruit of your labor. Know that you are on track and trust the process. You have done your very best to plant the seeds and everything is as it should be. Soon these wishes and dreams will begin to manifest in the spring sun and continue to grow. Relax…

Lay back (after your dance) and give yourself however long you can to soak up all the energy. Smile and notice how the feeling of warmth and accomplishment is spreading through every limb in your body. It feels wonderful, doesn’t it and you did it my friend. Know that love and light is on the way, and open yourself for the healing energy that I am sending you to wrap your body in light while fueling your own flame. You are loved and replenished, entirely.

Namaste my friends 💙🙏🏼

Full Moon in March – The Worm Moon

Picture: Yahoo

I have to admit that I did myself a little favor this month by looking into the energy of March’s Worm moon (March 28th). It was the powerful February Moon that took me by surprise and swooped me up in a whirlwind of emotions. I was curious to learn what to expect this month. Here is a little recap from bustle.com, written by Nina Kahn, with a guide for staying balanced, along with my own theory, experience, and input.

This moon helps us to find our footing as we dip our toes into new energy. It is time to get real about our closest relationships as we get in touch with ourselves, and prepare for new beginnings. We have some serious emotions to navigate during a cosmic chaos.

The full moon takes place in the peacemaking sign of Libra, associated with balance and partnerships. It brings to the surface what needs to be addressed. You might feel pulled between desires, struggles and values that include yours and those of others. Be prepared that they might not be in alignment with each other. State what you need and don’t dismiss yourself and your emotions. There is not one zodiac sign that won’t be challenged to find balance between these two worlds.

Trust the disruption

If we play our cards right, we are gifted with beautiful opportunities to bring more harmony to our lives, to get real about our relationships, and steady ourselves as we charge forward.

Here are a few things to guide us:

Do focus on your relationships

Don’t ignore red flags in romance

Do bring balance to your life

Don’t run from your insecurities

Do start healing from heartbreak

Don’t be harsh with your words

To me this full moon picks up and continues the energy that was started during last months full moon. It calls upon self care, being truthful with ourselves and staying balanced in the process of eliminating anything and anyone that is not authentic or serving our highest self. To me, it is shedding the illusions, the false selfs, the scenarios and circumstances that haven’t worked for a long time. It is time to finally make a stand, to continue peeling back the layers until we hit our purest core. To me it means continuing my shadow work, my inner child healing and ancestral trauma work. It means to continue on the path that I have chosen and to act and speak from a place of love and understanding vs. contempt and blame in order to get there. To me it is embracing change, even the pain and adversity that comes along with it, and to trust that it too has it’s place. This month is about making room for beautiful opportunities that are already coming my way. It is trusting the process and feeling excited and empowered by this new energy.

The first Full Moon of 2021

Picture: Yahoo Guidance and article from Sara Coughlin

Our first Full Moon in Leo is upon us and it is said that it could leave some bruised egos in its wake. (If you aren’t careful)

Last months Full Moon was all about peace and quiet, while this months fiery sign Leo demands that we step out of our respective shells and greet our adoring public. The regal sign of Leo will ensure that attitudes are warmer – but undeniably more dramatic. Egos will be hungrier although we feel an increased sense of generosity nonetheless.

This Full Moon wants you to claim and celebrate what’s yours. Every sign, not just Leo will realize what gifts they’ve quietly amassed over the last month. With a difficult 2020 behind us, it might be difficult to view anything as positive right now, but this Full Moon will highlight exactly what you’ve earned since the last Leo moon last February.

A win is still a win, no matter how small. Start practicing your victory dance. Look on the bright side and pinpoint what it is you have to be grateful for. Hold on to that triumph and be proud of what you have accomplished. It’s a great time to remember all the great compliments you have received or spend an evening looking back on how your hobbies have developed. Are you walking faster and longer miles? Have you reached a new romantic milestone? Do you deserve some recognition about how well you have tackled all pandemic challenges?

This Full Moon’s traditional meaning may bring out a dark side of Leonine energy. January is associated with nature’s most distinctive elements leaving packs of canines seen prowling despite the chill in the air. It brings perspective to the difficulty and the importance of what is required for survival when the temperatures are low and the natural world lies dormant. The energy points to a scarcity mindset many felt during the wintertime with the desire to cull resources despite the fact of modern luxuries and a drastically reduced sense of urgency behind those instincts.

Leo gives as much as it gets and places a premium on the give and take dynamic of any relationship. Thursday’s Full Moon emphasis on that scarcity could end up working in tandem with Leo’s what about me attitude and result in a seriously bruised ego. The trick to avoiding such an outburst is to look at what’s abundant, what can be spared, and therefore shared in your life.

This is a Full Moon to remember Leo’s capacity for benevolence and cut acquaintances and friends some slack if they come and ask for a favor. Even an I.O.U. will suffice for the moment.

It is a powerful Moon to get lifted. To elevate from stagnation and live the life we deserve. This Full Moon reminds and urges us to tap into the energy of every Full Moon using our energy wisely without letting a lunar cycle pass. Especially this year, it is imperative that we do so, that we let go of what holds us back and ties us down and that we no longer allow the forces outside of ourselves dictate our ability to experience love and happiness.

Personally, I hear the call as I have a lot of work to do. The signs are so clear and near, that they are undeniable. And yet something causes a failure to launch, a hesitation despite trust and believe being at it’s highest. Personally I will beat my earth drum during this Full Moon to release those ties, giving back everything that no longer serves my purpose.

May you find yours on this magical night and always while you gaze at the Moon, spellbound, in awe of its beauty. 🙏🏼💙
