Seeing with new eyes

Here is something to ponder and to really let the power of the words sink in. Take a moment to dream, make time for yourself. It only takes a minute, but it can have a huge impact for the rest of your life. How do these words apply to you/us? Are there things you/we would like to change?

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” ~Marcel Proust

In a world where we are constant learners, our vision has to adapt with changing times. When life happens and throws us a curveball, what do we do? Do we make lemonade out of the lemons we’ve been given or do we adapt and learn to see with new eyes. When was the last time you’ve witnessed beauty? When was the last time you’ve counted your blessings? When was the last time you saw through the eyes of a child in wonder and amazement?

We are the co-creators of our life and the time is now. More than ever are we needed to support Mother Earth and each other. Together we discover and explore our unique gifts in times of strengths, in times we lean on each other, and in times when we learn from each other. This blog started as an outlet and what I ultimately called my “Warriors Journey.” It was a way to document the ups and downs of my life, sharing my hardships as well as my successes. It showcased the struggles, but more important the ways of how to overcome them. Although we are warriors each and every day, I realized that having to be a warrior, comes from a place of pain. I decided to rename this blog, and “Phoenix Rising” now stands for the story of overcoming such a painful place. My motivation for this blog hasn’t changed and I hope to share inspiration and hope, to create a sense of belonging, a space of being heard, and connecting with like minded beings who instill a sense of oneness. We are never alone, and we are unstoppable in the pursuit of what sets our soul on fire. Who I am in a nutshell...
I am an energy healer and Reiki Master. I am surviving a chronic disease that I’ve sent into remission three times since my initial bout, 15 years ago. I continuously challenge the status quo and by doing so I change my stars. I am a believer that anything is possible. I am a hopeless romantic and I believe that true love exists on various levels. I am an optimist that will always see the glass as half full. I am a dreamer, believing in endless possibilities. Not even the sky is the limit. I have jumped off of the hamster wheel, and I am writing a new chapter. I am chasing my Nirvana to support my most authentic self. This is my story, I am that Phoenix and I am rising from the ashes. Namaste 🙏🏼💙🦋

  1. “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing
and rightdoing there is a field.
    I’ll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about.”

      1. Yes, she is seriously backwards and forwards now and her feathers (fluffy under feathers, I think it is the nesting feathers to keep eggs etc warm), and she is very hungry. That egg laying stuff must be tiring 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋 😂 🤣

      2. Awe how sweet. I hope she’ll let you meet her babies in time. I used to have a couple doves nesting in an old rusty metal watering can on my porch. Momma had two eggs and and I felt like a family member. But boy the babies were kind of, well…well..:not ready for a beauty pageant the first day they were born. Poor ugly little naked things. Ssssh I can’t believe I said that, the animal lover I am.

      3. They are beautiful to watch. And everything has its reverse dear lady, we even start off bald as an eagle (so to speak), and end up first cousins to the chimpanzee’s…grey and scruffy to boot 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋 😂 🤣

  2. Great personal work, dear Rhapsody.
Especially after my hospital stay 4 years ago, I learned to view life in the moment and to appreciate to wake up every day and to be thankful for each day, as I get.
This is a way to live in the moment and to view life with the eyes of a kid and to see all the wonders, as many are taken for given every day. It might be a flower, a tree, a hawk or just the beautiful lights around Christmas time. To remember to appreciate all the beauty in life.
Huge hugs and love for you ❤

    1. Oh I bet you have and I know it was a life changer for you. It’s times like those that bring us to the brink, that really make us. For my simplicity has always had its place, but it finds a whole new level when you are in pain and stripped of enjoying the little things. Everything is amplified when you have a decent day and you learn gratitude and thankfulness, appreciation and mindfulness at whole other scale. I so relate to your words.
Big big love you special soul. I am so grateful to know you. 💙😘
