You don’t have to be a Mother to be a Mother

Mother’s, nurturing, caring, protecting. Someone that embodies an unconditional and undying love for their loved ones. Mother’s know best, and are a guiding light in our life. I realize that not all are that lucky to have a relationship like this with their mother and until the end and Mom’s passing, I was one of those people.

Throughout my years on this planet I have encountered many others with t he qualities listed above. These qualities are just some that came to mind and are by no means inclusive. Some of these women never brought a child into the world and yet they possessed these qualities we often identify mothers with. Today I say that you don’t have to be a mother to be a mother. Today a statement from Cheryl Tamburri comes to mind I’d like to share with you.

“There is a tribe of warrior mother’s. Their fierceness is the stuff of legends – their weapons are spears of knowledge; shields forged from pain; courage and strength. They world them against powerful forces they cannot control, to fight for their children struggling to fight for themselves. Neither fear nor exhaustion can extinguish their spirit for there is a tribal well from which they come to drink, made of love, tears, and solidarity from their sisters – powerful, healing, and restorative waters which sustain them through unconditional love. Any who challenge them soon learn these women are formidable warriors, not to be trifled with. Their way are a mystery to the uninitiated – they do not apologize, explain, justify, nor suffer fools; yet they open their arms to embrace all who seek rest and comfort. They are The Heart Of A Warrior Woman – they are my tribe, these are my people, and we are made stronger together. 💙🙏🏼

Whether you are a physical mother or not, have you ever felt a bind this strong for someone, not your child or related by blood? Is it possible to feel this kind of compassion for humanity, someone, a stranger, a person in need, or just anyone?

We are the co-creators of our life and the time is now. More than ever are we needed to support Mother Earth and each other. Together we discover and explore our unique gifts in times of strengths, in times we lean on each other, and in times when we learn from each other. This blog started as an outlet and what I ultimately called my “Warriors Journey.” It was a way to document the ups and downs of my life, sharing my hardships as well as my successes. It showcased the struggles, but more important the ways of how to overcome them. Although we are warriors each and every day, I realized that having to be a warrior, comes from a place of pain. I decided to rename this blog, and “Phoenix Rising” now stands for the story of overcoming such a painful place. My motivation for this blog hasn’t changed and I hope to share inspiration and hope, to create a sense of belonging, a space of being heard, and connecting with like minded beings who instill a sense of oneness. We are never alone, and we are unstoppable in the pursuit of what sets our soul on fire. Who I am in a nutshell...
I am an energy healer and Reiki Master. I am surviving a chronic disease that I’ve sent into remission three times since my initial bout, 15 years ago. I continuously challenge the status quo and by doing so I change my stars. I am a believer that anything is possible. I am a hopeless romantic and I believe that true love exists on various levels. I am an optimist that will always see the glass as half full. I am a dreamer, believing in endless possibilities. Not even the sky is the limit. I have jumped off of the hamster wheel, and I am writing a new chapter. I am chasing my Nirvana to support my most authentic self. This is my story, I am that Phoenix and I am rising from the ashes. Namaste 🙏🏼💙🦋

  1. Yes dear lady, many ‘bindings’ of the heart can be singular, multiple or whole. Empathy and compassion are its love and shield, and it holds us up when we are low or or spreads its wings when we are high. In one of those bindings I touched another and went on a journey together, it lasted two days but has stayed with me forever. Love will show itself in many ways, some of them seemingly bad, but in the end it creates something wonderful…us. Only from the bottom can you see all the way to the top and in that journey there will be many who touch us within. And sometimes there will be a one who really touches our hearts and we will ‘know’ them truly, even if only just meeting them. They are a lesson, a very beautiful one to share truly that ‘touch’ within. Sometimes called a soul mate, sometimes a flame, but always they ‘touch’ us so that we know it is a strong heartfelt journey we are about to take. May it show you that love that is you dear lady, hold your heart so you can see, and believe in what you truly are within ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

      1. Ah but dear lady, you just mentioned chocolate. The law of attraction just said yes, let’s go 😂 🤣
        I’m sorry, I couldn’t help that 😀
And thank you, the universe did speak my friend, to share a step or two and find us within that mirroring. It has been my pleasure to accept your love in you being you…and occasionally flatten me with much wisdom yourself. Your toes have trod where I haven’t so there is always wisdom to be found Rhapsody, especially when we do indeed test our hearts as you are doing. Your really listening to your heart, there in itself goes the greatest wisdom and love there is 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋

  2. Dear Rhapsody. Yes, about this kind of friendship I use to express like: Real friends are the family, as I chose by myself.
Some souls are able to include others in their lives, no matter family or not, in a way so we feel like soul sisters or connected in another spiritual way.
Much love to you, dear friend ❤
NB: I will travel to Denmark in the beginning of August and be back home again in the middle of August. Did you find out, when you will arrive here in Germany?
If you need any help here, as I can support you with, please tell me.

    1. I am such a soul and see you as the same my dear friend. We’ve never met and yet we share a special bond, a bond sometimes stronger than that of family. I’m grateful to have crossed paths with you.
I haven’t booked my flight yet due to the RA flare up and being uncertain if I can physically handle it. But I keep you posted as soon as I know more. Thank you kindly and much love. You have a tough journey ahead of yourself going to Denmark and my heart is with you.

      1. I’m grateful to know you too, dear friend.
Thank you and yes, my journey will be special too.
You might get a more easy time here, if you are vaccinated before your travel. This will remove a lot of limits and make your journey much more easy. I got my first shot and the next when I arrive home again after Denmark. It wasn’t possible before that.
        Much love to you ❤

      2. I am sure you are right and I am looking into it. Which shot did you get, Moderna, Pfizer?
Already wishing you a safe journey and safe travels with a safe return. Much love to you. 💙

      3. I got the vaccine from Pfizer Biontech, which in Germany is only called Biontech.
Thank you so very much, I’m looking forward to get all done and also to enjoy to be with my son and his family too. I haven’t seen them since February 2020 because of Covid-19.
Please tell me, when you know, when you will come to Germany. Maybe Cinnamon will get a passport too 😀
Take good care of yourself and much love for both of you ❤

    1. Thank you for sharing dear friend and I can emphasize and feel with you as I don’t have children of my own either and lost two pregnancies. Some things are not meant to be I’ve learned and some things we might never get answers for. Sending much love and light your way as I understand your journey and what it feels like. Your nieces and nephews must be spoiled by you I bet. Lucky them 🤗😘

    1. Thank you for providing this link. Your post was beautifully written and heartfelt. I loved the quotes being a sucker for those little pieces of wisdom myself, but your picture and that experience as mother and daughter had to be out of this world. Something you will always cherish and hold dear, as well as your daughter. Beautiful.
