If you ever thought it’s your genes and you can’t do anything about it, then you don’t want to miss this one.

It’s new word Monday and an interesting one has crossed my path. The word is Epigenetics and in short is the study of mechanisms that switch genes on or off. So what does that mean in detail? It means above the genome. It tells your cells what sort of cells they should be. Cell differentiation – skin, heart, hair, liver etc. It can regulate gene function and affect the way we produce proteins. It can be trans generational and contain heritable epigenetic information. It can have an impact on the interaction with our genes and the environment.

I found it very intriguing, a kind of unraveling and changing/programming/considering the way we think. You might want to take a deeper look at this. Let’s simplify this a little more.

It claims that we have the power over our health and wellbeing. That we are in control of our cells and genes. I previously read that we can grow an entire new body as organs and cells regenerate. Your thoughts and environment can literally heal you from the inside out. Finally something to back up what I’ve been talking about all along. I’ve always believed this to be true from my own experience, now I finally have a name for this feeling and it’s no longer a hunch, and something I can’t explain. It makes perfect sense, and our outlook as well as what we surround ourselves with, can make all the difference.

Science is proving that our bodies ability to heal and repair itself is greatly effected by our beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and intentions, for they have a profound vibrational effect upon our continually evolving genetic code. We are the programmers, the co-creators of the code. DNA activation is our software upgrade.

The field of epigenetics, led by Bruce Lipton, is proving that genes are not the end all, be all, of our health. What is more effective on our body is our belief, thoughts and feelings. Stop checking out and putting your life and health in the hands of someone far less qualified than you. How fast you age, and in most cases, what illnesses you create, is a reflection of your subconscious mind through your beliefs, thoughts and feelings. So stop giving away your power and take responsibility for your body – it’s a temple and you can make a big difference. Change the way you think and feel, and it will change the way we treat disease. You have more power then you think and big Pharma is not the answer. And don’t even get me started on the miracle of an all of a sudden 90% effective Covid vaccine.

We are not what we inherit. We are what we express.

We are the co-creators of our life and the time is now. More than ever are we needed to support Mother Earth and each other. Together we discover and explore our unique gifts in times of strengths, in times we lean on each other, and in times when we learn from each other. This blog started as an outlet and what I ultimately called my “Warriors Journey.” It was a way to document the ups and downs of my life, sharing my hardships as well as my successes. It showcased the struggles, but more important the ways of how to overcome them. Although we are warriors each and every day, I realized that having to be a warrior, comes from a place of pain. I decided to rename this blog, and “Phoenix Rising” now stands for the story of overcoming such a painful place. My motivation for this blog hasn’t changed and I hope to share inspiration and hope, to create a sense of belonging, a space of being heard, and connecting with like minded beings who instill a sense of oneness. We are never alone, and we are unstoppable in the pursuit of what sets our soul on fire. Who I am in a nutshell...
I am an energy healer and Reiki Master. I am surviving a chronic disease that I’ve sent into remission three times since my initial bout, 15 years ago. I continuously challenge the status quo and by doing so I change my stars. I am a believer that anything is possible. I am a hopeless romantic and I believe that true love exists on various levels. I am an optimist that will always see the glass as half full. I am a dreamer, believing in endless possibilities. Not even the sky is the limit. I have jumped off of the hamster wheel, and I am writing a new chapter. I am chasing my Nirvana to support my most authentic self. This is my story, I am that Phoenix and I am rising from the ashes. Namaste 🙏🏼💙🦋

    1. I know you do and bless you for it. For getting up every day, good and bad and giving it your best, never losing sight even when the pain consumes you and steals your will and strengths. I know all too well and I see you and the struggle. I think you are doing amazing Wendi and I also think you, we don’t often hear it or don’t hear it enough. Here is to you, to us, the fighters and warriors that pave the way and shed light onto this difficult path. Much love to you.

      1. I’m sorry I’m just now getting back to you but I wanted you to know that I felt so comforted and cradled by your words and kindness. They arrived in a time I needed them and I thank you for being there. Big love to you. Always.
