Picture from our little hike near Hallstatt, Austria.
While many people make New Years resolutions at this time of the year when everything is new, I was wondering about my own. I came to the conclusion that it was ok to not have big goals in my life, that it was ok to not have plans to manifest. To not chase dreams and be left exhausted trying to achieve something that perhaps wasn’t timely. What something else came to mind that I found relevant for myself, my own motto or New Years resolution of we want to call it that.
Do you know that hiking is a bit like life? The journey only requires you to put one foot in front of the other…again and again and again. And if you allow yourself opportunity to be present throughout the entirety of the trek, you will witness beauty every step of the way, not just at the summit.
Movement is important for me in my fight with the RA (rheumatoid arthritis). Not giving up is essential and putting one foot in from of the other is key. To keep going, even if it’s at a snails pace. To be present and make the best out of the journey represents my core beliefs. To work on my level of presence and growing my awareness to an even higher vibration, is my goal. To seek beauty with that new awareness and a set of new eyes brings magic to my day and a gratefulness that fills my heart. And lastly I want to take as many people as possible on that hike of their life’s, paying forward my experiences in the hopes of helping others in their due time.
Step by step. ❤️
We are the co-creators of our life and the time is now. More than ever are we needed to support Mother Earth and each other.
Together we discover and explore our unique gifts in times of strengths, in times we lean on each other, and in times when we learn from each other.
This blog started as an outlet and what I ultimately called my “Warriors Journey.” It was a way to document the ups and downs of my life, sharing my hardships as well as my successes. It showcased the struggles, but more important the ways of how to overcome them. Although we are warriors each and every day, I realized that having to be a warrior, comes from a place of pain. I decided to rename this blog, and “Phoenix Rising” now stands for the story of overcoming such a painful place.
My motivation for this blog hasn’t changed and I hope to share inspiration and hope, to create a sense of belonging, a space of being heard, and connecting with like minded beings who instill a sense of oneness. We are never alone, and we are unstoppable in the pursuit of what sets our soul on fire.
Who I am in a nutshell...
I am an energy healer and Reiki Master.
I am surviving a chronic disease that I’ve sent into remission three times since my initial bout, 15 years ago.
I continuously challenge the status quo and by doing so I change my stars.
I am a believer that anything is possible. I am a hopeless romantic and I believe that true love exists on various levels. I am an optimist that will always see the glass as half full. I am a dreamer, believing in endless possibilities. Not even the sky is the limit. I have jumped off of the hamster wheel, and I am writing a new chapter.
I am chasing my Nirvana to support my most authentic self.
This is my story, I am that Phoenix and I am rising from the ashes.
Namaste 🙏🏼💙🦋

I read you can get rid of rheumatoid arthritis by quitting milk and chocolate drinks.

I have heard dairy products can trigger flare but haven’t heard about the chocolate. I’m in trouble but it’s definitely worth a try. Thank you son much for sharing your insight with me. Have a great week.

I like your way of viewing life, step by step and day by day. All those goals for the new year are mostly broken anyway. When we know, we need to change something in our life, then we must find a way to change it, no matter the time at year.
Much love and huge hugs to you ❤

Thank you so much Irene. You are right and many break their New Years resolution shortly after making them. This one day at a time process had worked better for me breaking it down into smaller goals.
Much love to you ❤️

I just posted a blog on similar lines. for me 2020 will be about Mirco Resolutions or Step by Step as you call it. I liked how you connected it to hiking. I am not much of a planner or a goal setter. But have realised small steps will take me to a bigger path. thank you for sharing this perspective

It is okay not to follow the race (that everyone is following) and make your own path and plans. The bottom line? it is your life and you have to enjoy what you are doing.

You are absolutely right my friend and I have stopped following the race a long time ago. I tend to go against the grain these days. Not to rebel but because it’s just following my true nature. Guess that makes me unique which I prefer these days vs trying to fit in and losing who I truly am. 😉

Thank you Steve. I think sometimes we get overwhelmed by the big pictures and it can seem like such a daunting go task. Breaking it down into steps should bring us some relief. Best wishes, always. ❤️
