Opinions

This post is for you, the empath, the one who feels so deeply and sometimes doesn’t know if your gift is a blessing or a curse. May this post help, and perhaps shed a different view onto your unique gift. May it let it sigh with gratitude and a better understanding. You are blessed.

So what about it? Opinions…we all got one and who is to say one is right over the other? I guess it comes down to…well, opinions and how YOU feel about something.

In an opinion/quote by Bill Bullard he says that the opinion is really the lowest form of human knowledge. It requires no accountability, no understanding. The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another’s world.

I applaud you if you are able to do this. Sure it’s painful sometimes and you absorb a lot of negative energy, but you can also learn to protect yourself and disconnect from that energy. Have you ever encountered someone, it seemed impossible that they could suspend their ego and how did you feel about it?

We are the co-creators of our life and the time is now. More than ever are we needed to support Mother Earth and each other. Together we discover and explore our unique gifts in times of strengths, in times we lean on each other, and in times when we learn from each other. This blog started as an outlet and what I ultimately called my “Warriors Journey.” It was a way to document the ups and downs of my life, sharing my hardships as well as my successes. It showcased the struggles, but more important the ways of how to overcome them. Although we are warriors each and every day, I realized that having to be a warrior, comes from a place of pain. I decided to rename this blog, and “Phoenix Rising” now stands for the story of overcoming such a painful place. My motivation for this blog hasn’t changed and I hope to share inspiration and hope, to create a sense of belonging, a space of being heard, and connecting with like minded beings who instill a sense of oneness. We are never alone, and we are unstoppable in the pursuit of what sets our soul on fire. Who I am in a nutshell...
I am an energy healer and Reiki Master. I am surviving a chronic disease that I’ve sent into remission three times since my initial bout, 15 years ago. I continuously challenge the status quo and by doing so I change my stars. I am a believer that anything is possible. I am a hopeless romantic and I believe that true love exists on various levels. I am an optimist that will always see the glass as half full. I am a dreamer, believing in endless possibilities. Not even the sky is the limit. I have jumped off of the hamster wheel, and I am writing a new chapter. I am chasing my Nirvana to support my most authentic self. This is my story, I am that Phoenix and I am rising from the ashes. Namaste 🙏🏼💙🦋

  1. Interesting topic, Rhapsody.
I have met many people, who never developed any kind of empathy. By experience, I do my best to stay away from them, just like I prefer stay away from souls without any kind of humor. Not always with success, but I learn and try not to repeat.
I hope, that you are feeling good, dear friend ❤

      1. Maybe you are right and while many people seem self centered, lacking empathy and compassion for the next person, the empaths are very much alive, although perhaps becoming a dying breed and the minority.

  2. I think the greatest challenge, is to learn from people with different views to our own. Empathy and compassion (it’s forbear), develop when we try to understand and balance negative and positive forces. They are the polar opposites but we need both to create perspective and learn why they are necessary. The whole universe hangs together in the delicate balance of opposites attracting each other, for without one, the other cannot exist. The Web of life is built upon these principles. We can learn from everything. Acceptance of that which we do not agree with, creates balance and harmony in the middle of disharmonious states.

  3. Robert Hare suggests that 1% of Americans are psychopathic and he may well be correct having delt with so many. I don’t believe in a dying breed concept , human nature is amazingly stable over thousands of years . Interestingly psychopaths have a different brain scan .

  4. Very true but I have led a pretty mundane existence , not without the trials and tribulations common to most men but nothing exceptional . Mind you sometimes I seem to have broken through more by luck than judgement.
