Hag Stones

This one is for my stone lovers.

Have you ever found a holey rock? I used to call them holey rocks before I even knew their official name, and I have quite a few of them in the states. What I wasn’t familiar with is their meaning, and it was a cool surprise to stumble upon this. They are Hag Stones, to be found on a beach in California, and it is actually the only place I have ever found them.

Hag stones, also known as Holey Stones or Witch Stones, are stones that have a naturally occurring hole and are usually found near oceans and other bodies of water. They are said to be powerful protection talismans, and when worn or carried they protect the bearer from curses, hexes, negative spirits, and harm. They have also been used to prevent nightmares, being strung on a bedpost or placed underneath pillows. It is believed that if you peer through the hole of the stone that you can see the Fae Folk and otherworldly entities. If one broke, it is thought to have used it’s power to protect a life.

We are the co-creators of our life and the time is now. More than ever are we needed to support Mother Earth and each other. Together we discover and explore our unique gifts in times of strengths, in times we lean on each other, and in times when we learn from each other. This blog started as an outlet and what I ultimately called my “Warriors Journey.” It was a way to document the ups and downs of my life, sharing my hardships as well as my successes. It showcased the struggles, but more important the ways of how to overcome them. Although we are warriors each and every day, I realized that having to be a warrior, comes from a place of pain. I decided to rename this blog, and “Phoenix Rising” now stands for the story of overcoming such a painful place. My motivation for this blog hasn’t changed and I hope to share inspiration and hope, to create a sense of belonging, a space of being heard, and connecting with like minded beings who instill a sense of oneness. We are never alone, and we are unstoppable in the pursuit of what sets our soul on fire. Who I am in a nutshell...
I am an energy healer and Reiki Master. I am surviving a chronic disease that I’ve sent into remission three times since my initial bout, 15 years ago. I continuously challenge the status quo and by doing so I change my stars. I am a believer that anything is possible. I am a hopeless romantic and I believe that true love exists on various levels. I am an optimist that will always see the glass as half full. I am a dreamer, believing in endless possibilities. Not even the sky is the limit. I have jumped off of the hamster wheel, and I am writing a new chapter. I am chasing my Nirvana to support my most authentic self. This is my story, I am that Phoenix and I am rising from the ashes. Namaste 🙏🏼💙🦋

  1. Ha! Ha! Ha! You are right in my territory now! I have boxes full of these stones and I use them for making shamanic artefacts and holding magic. To make them work, you have to invoke the intent, placing the energy in the stone, the hole is perfect for holding the energy of your intent and that’s why they have been used for magic for thousands of years, plus you can tie them onto things easily. Andy and I each have one in our cars with a protection spell and runes painted on and we have had a number of miraculous near misses. The same two stones have been used in all our vehicles for over 30 years.
Where I live they are plentiful in the flint at the beaches. If you find one with a teeny tiny pebble stuck inside the hole, that’s an Eye Stone and when invoked, can be used to treat eye problems by rubbing your eyes with it and to open the third eye and increase psychic vision. I just love your pebbles, Rhapsody! Sending you pebble love, xxx

    1. Boxes? I don’t blame you and I have made some artifacts out them as well. I will have to send you a picture. The parallels 😉. You have to collect one for me some time, or better yet, we collect one together. I have to hurry up before you move.
I love all the insight and will place one in my car as well if I ever make it home to drive it. Gosh I miss my car.
Sending plentiful pebble love tight back to you. Hugs

      1. I think I might use some holey stones and one or two other pretties to make you a natural organic dreamcatcher, that is, if you can handle getting one in Germany, you may find it weighty and bulky if you were to try taking it back to the States, though? I’ll think of something you can manage. 🙂 xx
