View from our hike around the shoreline near Los Lobos State Reserve Park off of famous highway 1. In addition to the spectacular cliff formations and sandy beaches, the landscape was exploding with a variety of in bloom wildflowers. Wildflowers and wildlife, always a bonus when encountered according to my book and they always leave me with a smile.
In all the years hiking, we have found many beautiful wildflower hikes and I remember camping near Yosemite National Park one year. We set out in the morning just for a leisurely stroll along the Merced river that was dotted with various wildflowers. I collected the most beautiful little bouquet consisting of one wildflower of each kind. I remember the fun, the smile and the careless moments, again filled with childlike abandon. To this day I still have my pressed little flower bouquet tugged away as a special memory.
