It is lately that most things encountered somehow link back to life and offer some kind of relevance to me. A few questions usually strike up from whatever triggers that response, leaving me to wonder and think.
This picture was taken during my trip to the ocean in May and it evokes a multitude of thoughts. I can’t help but imagine the storms this tree must have battled in his lifetime. Bent, twisted tales of survival with limbs reaching to the ground to hold on and stand fast. I can only imagine the power it took to shape the view he offers to those that pass him by today.
It made me think of how much time shapes us all. It made me think about my own life. The bent and twisted past, the experiences that shaped me who I am today and the storms that are still ahead of me and are yet to come. And I know a few battles are still oustanding.
I’m not sure what will be as I take it one day at a time, but one thing is for certain and just like this beautiful tree, I reach out to stay grounded and I’m still standing.
